Why its important to protect your Tesla with Xpel PPF

From the top, I just want to emphasize that it’s ideal to wrap your vehicle in Paint Protection Film no matter what the brand of the vehicle you own is. But, it’s that much more wise, and financially efficient to wrap cars that are known to have a sensitive/soft paint job.
The top 3 manufactures (in our experience) that have the most softest clear coat are:

1- Tesla
2- Lexus
3- Bentley
4- Honda

The difference between a car that has a weaker clear coat vs a very strong one is that the car with the weaker clear coat is much more prone to swirl marks, scratching, and marring. Ultimately leaving your with a car that (when the sun shines on the paint work), you see a bunch of spider web scratches all over the paint. This could be a result of using a drive through car wash, using a snow brush, and simply washing it incorrectly. You may want to consider adding some protection. In that case you’ll have 3 options to choose from.
From the least expensive to the most expensive, it goes as follows:

1. Wax-4-6 weeks of protection
2. Ceramic Coating- 2-5 Year protection
3. Paint Protection Film- 10+ Years

All these options add a layer/layers of protection to your clear coat. The wax is applied as either as a liquid or a paste, then wiped off. The Ceramic Coating goes on the vehicle as a liquid and then solidifies into a glass coating (another name of Ceramic Coating). Then the Xpel Paint Protection film is installed as is, using what is called a “slip solution” then squeegeed into place. Acting as a transparent skin on the surface of your paint. Not only does PPF (paint protection film) protect your car, but it also enhances your paint. It truly adds a beautiful, noticeable gloss. Making it the ultimate way to protect your paint. And at the same time, the most costly. As proud sponsors of the Tesla Owners Club of Ontario I will be using Tesla as an example. To wrap a Tesla Model Y in Paint Protection Film you should be looking to spend anywhere from $5000-$6000 CAD. But if you decided to opt for wrapping only the front-end of your Tesla Model 3 for example. You should be prepared to spend anywhere from $1850-$2000 CAD. Depending on who you hire, and the quality of both their install and shop hygiene.

We cannot emphasis the importance of shop hygiene enough when selecting a good PPF installer. When installing Xpel Paint Protection Film, what separates the good installers from the bad is the amount of dust, hair, and general debris left behind under the film when receiving it back from them. I wouldn’t expect 100% perfection though. After all, it’s called “Paint Protection film” not “Paint Perfection Film”. Some of even the best installers in the world leave some debris behind because they are only as good as the shop they install it in. And it’s next to impossible to install a PPF job on a vehicle without having at least 3-5 dust marks left behind. So, it’s safe to say a professional installer (like ourselves) you may have anywhere from 2-3 tiny dust particles left under your film, worst case scenario. This applies to our tint work as well. Anyone who says they can install it 100% perfectly with ZERO dust marks is lying to you. With over 10 years of experience in this business, I have yet to see even 1 job thats 100% dust free for both window tint and PPF installs.

However, we are perfectionist and we do stand by our work. So, if you do decide to hire us and you notice more than a few dust marks. Without a doubt, we will replace that component so that the job is then 100% perfect:)
